Thank you for signing up to be a mobile mechanic with Bird! As a mechanic, you will be helping us maintain optimal safety for our riders through full inspection and repair of each Bird that has been reported as damaged. Basic repairs, such as sticker or grommet replacements, can be done in-field. However, more advanced repairs, such as tire replacements, will need to be completed at home. We are happy to provide you with tools, but you are welcome to use your own tools to repair Birds if you prefer. Replacement parts can be ordered through our mechanic support channel in the Help section of the app.
You locate damaged Birds by opening the app and toggling on mechanic mode. Damaged Birds are represented as a wrench icon on the map.
The payout for repairing Birds is as follows:
Mechanics earn $15 for each fully repaired and charged Bird. Payment is issued at the end of every business day via direct deposit, which can take between 1 and 3 days to appear in your account.
For each unrepairable Bird (ie. cut wires, snapped neck, brain ripped off, etc.) that you encounter, please contact mechanic support and they will advise you on where to drop off the broken Bird. You will be paid $5 per Bird that you transfer.
Note: Each Bird you take home for repair will need to be fully charged. When releasing the Bird the following morning (between 4 AM and 7 AM), make sure you are marking the Bird as Repaired before releasing it.
